Pois é, nessas horas, dá um branco e, às vezes, não conseguimos ir além da primeira linha :O
É interessante verificar as sugestões de cada agência, porque cada uma pode ter uma diferença, ainda que pequena. Seja como for, de um modo geral, a carta é bem parecida de uma agência para outra.
Vou dar algumas dicas de como escrever essa cartinha e deixar a minha como exemplo. Bora, falar sobre a carta :D
Verifique algumas dicas:
> No primeiro parágrafo, eu recomendo que você se apresente (resumidamente), fale sobre o efeito que o Programa Au Pair tem em você e fale sobre o quão você gosta das crianças. Eu acho bem significativo apresentar tais aspectos, para poder chamar a atenção da família e estimulá-la a ler o restante da carta.
> Nos demais parágrafos, fale sobre você, sua formação, interesse e sua família. E, principalmente, discuta o que você pretende fazer como Au Pair, o porquê de você querer ser Au Pair, e suas experiências acadêmicas, de trabalho e de vida que contribuirão para você ser uma boa Au Pair. Também, fale sobre suas qualidades que também serão relevantes nesse intercâmbio.
Facinho, né? Mais fácil do que pensamos :D
Eu sugiro que a carta tenha muita sinceridade. Você fingir ou mentir algo em uma carta, é bem fácil. Porém, viver essa mentira durante um ano, será bem complicado. Por isso, seja sincerx e pense que é importante ter o match com uma família que se enquadre em seu perfil.
Vou copiar a carta que eu fiz como um modelo. Espero que vocês aproveitem o modelo, mas escreva a cartinha de vocês, cheinha de sinceridade e de coisas relevantes a seu respeito.

I’m glad you are reading my profile and I hope you enjoy it.
I’m Flavia, 26 years old, from Brazil and a person who loves the life. I love kids and I work with kids every single day of my life. Like a teacher I teach them, but I admit that I learn a lot being a teacher. I have a big family and always my life is busy, I am used to do many things in the same time. When I discovered Au Pair program I loved it. Because I could to live a new culture and in the same time spend time with kids. Perfect! I want to tell more about me and I hope match an interview to answer doubts.
Since I was a little child I loved to discover new cultures and I had already decided to be a teacher. First I love kids and teenagers, second I love to study. Almost 5 years ago I read something about au pair program. And I was amazed about it. I thought a lot about it and I prepared myself to be an au pair. In those 5 years I would finish college and be a teacher and have more experiences with kids.
Nowadays I feel prepared to be an au pair. I know it can be not very easy living far way at home, but I am open to learn, learn about the culture, about the family, about the kids and everything else. And being an English teacher, I know I can practice it and be a better professional when I am back in Brazil.
As a teacher I have several students, some are 4 years old, others are 65. Although sometimes it is a challenge, it is also wonderful because I can learn a lot and I can be prepared to solve different situations.
Beyond my experience at school, I have cared for some neighbors’ kids, as you can see in my references. But I would like talk more about the best experience I've in my life regarding kids, in my opinion: caring for my little brother. I remember when he was born, my mother was a little sick, and because of it, I did everything caring for him, for almost 3 months. Like bathe, feed, etc. Now he is 11 and it is interesting, because he is half my brother, half my son. And considering I was 15 when he was born, I treated him as a son also.
My neighbor always ask me watch their kids when they need go out. They believe that I am fun with kids. Sometimes I care almost 8 kids and we can have a good time, playing cards, watching TV, singing, cooking sweets. We really have a fun.
I am very tolerant and I respect differences. I think that differences make life beautiful. I love to learn and discover more and more about life. I think we have to love each other and practice charity always, it does not matter if we will receive something back.
As an au pair, I will be very caring, responsible, patient and punctual. I know kids are what is most precious for their parents, so I will treat your children as I would my own kids (future one heheh).
I would like to also teach about my culture: culinary and others things. I want show how caring and compassionate Brazilians are and I am. And I want to go back to Brazil taking everything I learned about America with me.
